# GAB dataset documentation

The GAB dataset is a release: a dated folder of open files that any client reads with a plain GET request. A small read-only interface lists the files and an MCP server gives the manifest, the file addresses and a citation text. No key, no sign-in and no rate plan is needed.

## Entry points

- Manifest: `GET https://gabrielosint.org/release/manifest.json` lists every file with its size and its SHA-256 checksum, the version (2026-10-28) and the contacts.
- Linked data: `GET https://gabrielosint.org/release/dataset.jsonld` is a schema.org Dataset record.
- OpenAPI description: `GET https://gabrielosint.org/openapi.json` describes these requests for tools.
- Versioned list: `GET https://gabrielosint.org/api/v1/files?limit=5` lists the files by page. Pass `next` as `cursor` for the next page.
- MCP server (read only, no sign-in): `POST https://gabrielosint.org/mcp` with JSON-RPC. Its card is at `https://gabrielosint.org/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json`. Tools: get_release_manifest, list_release_files, get_file_url, cite.

## Errors

A missing file answers with the status 404 and a JSON body with the members `error` and `hint`.
